Ever wondered what goes on in there?

We are 26 weeks now, and since our little girl already has her little character and didn't want to confirm to us that she was indeed a little girl at our last appointment, we decided to get a 3D/4D echo done.
It turned out to be a wonderful experience to see this little bumble bee moving and doing her little stuff in my belly. At least I know where she is up to when she wakes me up with her tectonic dances.
Meet our little girl:

She is 31 cm and weighs 820 gr right now

Swinging baby - Keep on smiling

“Don't comment on my weight and I won't be forced to bitch-slap you, deal?

“Yeah, like "OMG, you are HUGE!" is an appropriate thing to say to a pregnant woman.

“Yeah, pregnant women just LOVE to be told how big they look.

No More Delivery Horror Stories! I've met my quota for this pregnancy, thanks!'

Why do people think it is okay to talk about my weight, just because I am pregnant? You wouldn’t dare to ask me how much I weigh or how much I gained when I wasn’t pregnant, so why would you now?
It is not that we are feeling at our most beautiful or sexy, for that matter. So please don’t rub it in.
Worse is that these comments always come from women, who should know that gaining weight is no fun, whether it is for a little miracle in your belly or just because you are eating too much ice cream.

It is almost equally annoying as the free advice you are getting that you don’t want or need. If I need help or advice, I will ask. I don’t feel too good to ask help. And I will need help at some point. But I don’t need people’s opinion on breastfeeding, co sleeping, circumcising, vaccinating. What I do or eat while I am pregnant. I consider myself a rational person, I‘ve read all the right books, and I don’t consider myself stupid.

My beebeeke and I are doing fine and are quite happy to share my body for the moment.
And I am sure that when beebee is ready to come that we will continue to get along just fine! (Although I cannot give you chocolate cookies from the start, I already apologise for that, my bumble bee, I know you like them for breakfast) But just to be on the safe side: I’m getting my little bee a T-shirt that says: “don't give my mommy any dumb advice, she's doing just fine!

I love her (probably a girl / 97% certain) and the little moods she has – in my head she already has a character (grumpy, dancing, punching her daddy, sleeping). I like…

Purrrfect Risotto

By Lisa
At our house, we do tv dinners, but we also enjoy to sit at our dining table and eat well on a nicely dressed table.
First of course, a nice apero
Well, without alcohol of course for me, but I discovered a non-alcoholic apero which can fool my senses, crodino. Njam
And then my love made the nice risotto from our own cook book, with prawns, asparagus and des st-Jacques. Purrrfect

 Here is the recipe!
Have a happy weekend.

Beebeekes First Things - Part II

By Lisa
It is very difficult to not shop all the time now that it is coming closer.
For the moment I am still in the accessories, avoiding all the practical stuff, like bottles, diapers and such.
Luckily there are millions of nice things to choose from - shopping for my kiddo is equally fun as shopping for myself. I think it is Love.
Oh by the way, we went to see the doctor - Beebeeke weighs 620 grs and is almost 30 cm!

Here we go:
I discovered this brand when we were roadtripping in the US and I really love their products and they also have baby stuff- Baby Bee
Even the packaging looks like sunshine and honey, and I have read it makes babies smell like it too.

Mr. Wolf - isn't he cute? and very soft

Craig the Crocodile
My parents gave us the stroller as a present, so at least we already have 1 practical thing :)
And I couldn't help it, I already bought her some hair accessories.
That's all of the update, I'm sure there is lots to follow

if the world around you is nuts, does that mean I am nuts too? I hope not

Sometimes the world around you makes no sense at all. It doesn't for me anyway.
I am very grateful that I have a loving man and a comfy home to return too, before this crazy world gets the best of me. As much as you try to be calm and relaxed about everything, sometimes the last drop has fallen. And at that moment, everything starts to annoy you like:
  • The cars in front of you who think that the maximum speed on the street is 5km/hour.
  • The publicity/adverts I find every day in my mail, while I have a sticker that says 'NO THANK YOU'
  • The millions and thousands of narrow-minded, stupid people that you are sharing this world with and where you have to be friendly to, even if it is completely against your nature.
  • Shall I go on?
Ok, I am also pregnant, so for the moment I can always say that it is the hormones.
But hey, you know what, it is not the hormones, sometimes you are just pissed off.
And that is perfectly okay and normal.
I am just giving a shout out for the right to be pissed!
Bear with me.okay.
(Beebee, Mommy is gonna let you be pissed off sometimes too, even if you have everything to be happy about)
Now I have the beast out of my system, I'll go and take a tranquillizing bath with lavender oil. HaHa.
Thanks for listening.

Baby it's cold outside

Ok; it was a big shock coming home in -20°C, after a week of 30°C.
But at least it gave me the chance to wear the beautiful christmassy dress my mother-in-law knitted for me.
And snowy walks through the city with my handsome man

And some heart warming home made creamy mushroom soup with bacon
