My bullet Journal

Beginning of November I started working with a bullet journal as a last resort for my chaotic mind.
I have tried everything in the organizing department: a paper agenda, an outlook agenda, a calendar on my phone, just trying to keep everything in my head, but nothing really worked for me. Then there are my to do’s – sometimes I want to start a list of things and then I just take a random piece of paper, write down my list and then forget where I’ve put it or just throw it away. Then there is the problem of my ideas (of blogging, menu’s, presents, travel, inspiration, diary entries) – Where do I put them? In a separate notebook that I never have with me? So now I have all-in one! Let’s see if this works! On pinterest I saw all these nice bullet journals with decorated week planners with beautiful handlettering, so when I saw that Marie Cadie ( a fellow blogger from the neighbourhood) organized a handlettering workshop in collaboration with Mino Paper Sweets, I just had to go. Together with my friend Anne we had a very creative Saturday Morning and -en plus- we went home with a filled goodiebag.

The Christmas Bucketlist

It's time to talk about my...
 My Christmas Bucket list 2016

1. Put a real christmas tree (or two) because the kid wanted one too
2. Eat Spaghetti Bolo at de Patattenzak - for me THE Christmas place and the closest feeling of an American diner I can find here
3. Eat Toteman (special bread from the area) for breakfast in the happy season as a family tradition
4. Go Ice skating with the kid
5. Stroll around the Christmas Market in my hometown

1 to 5 I can already cross off my list! So it is a good start! By next week I hope to get some other ones crossed off. Well, it is not about crossing off stuff of my list, it is about creating a happy month and family traditions, so my girl will have great memories of the holiday season to hold on to forever and for us too of course. My man and Olivia on the ice this weekend was so cute! She was such a good sport. Sunday morning we got the toteman, the special bread with raisins - baked in a wood oven and had breakfast with hot chocolat milk. Sunday afternoon, we got some of our shopping done and went to Brussels to eat spaghetti at de Patattenzak! The weekend has done us good, after a week full of sickness and low energy levels.

 6. Bake a pecan pie
7. Go and see the lights of the overdecorated houses in the neighbourhood
8. Eat raclette in a chalet
9. Re-read Augie Wren's Christmas Story by Paul Auster in the bathtub surrounded by candles
10. Make a camp and sleep in the living room and watch Christmas movies all night (I taped Grumpy Cat's worst christmas - my husband can't wait :))

Weekend at the cabin

As every first weekend of December, we went to the Ardennes for the weekend. Unfortunately our partners in crime fell sick the first night, so it was just the three of us most of the weekend. It was good chilling with a (cook) book, a little afternoon nap, the annual visit to the christmas market in Durbuy, driving through the back roads in the dark, chilling under the duvet in the sofa watching christmas movies (with matching x-mas socks), sleeping in, just enjoying some quality time together. When we drove home, I was all in christmas mood, so we decided to go and buy the tree (s) (one for us and a little one for her).
The weekend in the Ardennes preludes the most wonderful time of the year - and I am so ready for it.

The year of The 3L Syndrome

Now that December has started, I thought this would be a good time to look back on this past year.
At the end of last year, I felt the need to take The world of The 3L Syndrome a step further with doing what we love: cooking and organising small events. We did a little try out last winter and I really liked the feeling it gave me and the energy I got from it. Of course the week before each event, I'm stressed and I think: Why am I doing this again? But when it is over, it really gives me this feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. I love putting menu's together and thinking about the location, the decoration and the small touches I like to add to every single event. 2016 was the year of brunches, dinners, aperitivo's, picnics, musical afternoons and parties and we are already excited for what is to come in 2017. Thanks for your support this year and we hope to see you next year again at one of our events.
Or if you organise something, and you would like The 3L Syndrome Food, do contact us!
Happy december!
