Dimanche Après-midi

Next to our house, there is this renovated ruin of a church made into a park. It is a beautiful spot in our town, and it has been horribly under'used' in the past. But in this new 'take back the city' vibe that has been happening over here, the city organised an event to celebrate this place and its history: Music & Moments.
There were drinks, live music, pictures of the fire (which ruined the church) and lots of people enjoying Sunday afternoon in the sun.
I took care of the bits and bites for the event and I served the following goodies:
Watermelon, mint & blueberry salad
Nachos with cowboy caviar (homemade salsa)
Veggies with homemade ranch dip in a cup
Double chocolate brownie (for the not so healthy food lovers)
By the end of the afternoon all food was gone, so I could not have been happier!
Have a good week!

Picnic by the 3L Syndrome

Reclaim the public spaces of the city!

De manden zijn op voorhand te reserveren via the3lsyndrome@outlook.be en kosten 20€ per persoon (kinderen tot 12 jaar betalen 7,5€). Wees er snel bij want manden zijn beperkt!
Hopelijk tot dan! #supportlocalinitiatives

On Sunday, August 7th Parklife organizes in collaboration with The 3L Syndrome a summer picnic in the city park of Tienen. For me the perfect picnic basket is filled with some healthy snacks, a cold soup, a sandwich, a salad, a pastry, fruit and homemade lemonade. You can pick up your basket atThe 3L Syndrome booth in the park and then look for the perfect place to roll out your blanket. A pleasant Sunday afternoon with family, friends or the opportunity to meet new people - it's your choice! The weekend newspaper, a game of Kubb, finding cloud animals, everything is possible. Reclaim the public spaces of the city!

The baskets can be reserved in advance by emailing to the3lsyndrome@outlook.be and cost € 20 per person (children under 12 years pay €7.5). Be quick because our baskets are limited!
Hope to see you then! #supportlocalinitiatives

The 3L Winter Wedding (part one)

I'm so happy to share some photos with you today of the family shoot we did before the wedding ceremony.
I'm really happy with how they turned out and I think they represent us as we are.
And how cute is our daughter?
Our Wedding Day was beautiful - just as we wanted with lots of details and things that make us us. We could not have asked for more.

...More to come soon...

For who she is.

If there is one thing I want to achieve as a parent, it is embracing Olivia for who she is,
to really look at her. She is not a blank canvas you can paint.
She is already her own painting.
Lots of people want their children to be what they want them to be, a better version of themselves, or exactly like themselves, or maybe something they would have liked to be and they put all hope on the kid. I just wanted to write this down to remind myself that my main goal in being a parent is to raise a child with a healthy self-image and self esteem, because these are the most important things to be happy in life. All the rest is less important, whether she is very smart or less, shy or extravert, a real girliegirl or more a jeans-sneakers kinda girl, a hair dresser or an engineer, an adventurer or a staycationer, an employee or an entrepeneur, messy or tidy, a thinker or a do-er.

We will love her unconditionally for who she is, and not judge her on what she is not.
I know she will drive us crazy sometimes (she already does)
I know we will be desperate at times, like every parent because of the choices she makes.
But every choice she makes will make her a little more 'my daughter Olivia'.
And that's good.
