Eastern Route 66 - The Mother Road

Hello there! We have been 4 days on the road now and we already crossed 4 states (we are in Texas as I write). We started the first leg of our journey in Chicago, which is a pleasant city. I think America welcomed us as we know it: Friendly! When we went to breakfast the whole restaurant sang Happy birthday for an older employee (84!) and for a girl celebrating her sweet 16! It moved me, but hey I'm a sucker for America. We were off to a good start. The kid has been handling the traveling so well - no jetlag, no problems with the hours in the car nor the changing hotels every single day. As long as she has her songs in the car from time to time and a little playtime, she is happy. Here is a photo diary of what we have done and seen so far...

Day 1: Chicago, IL to St.Louis, MO (478 km)
Day 2: St Louis, Mo to Lebanon, MO (263 km)
Day 3: Lebanon, MO via Kansas to Tulsa, OK (400 km)
Day 4: Tulsa, OK to Clinton, OK (307 km)

I wish I could go back in time and see everything how it was in the glory time.
Because these cities have a lot of trouble to stay alive, but with a little imagination you can bring it all back to life.
Do follow along for our other photo diaries...
Howdy!
