I love my baby every minute of every day, but there are some special moments that you just feel overwhelmed by love. Well, this afternoon was full of these moments. Olivia was being adorable, and I shot these wonderful photos of her sitting in the middle of some pear trees and I fell in love again. Last night I could not sleep and she was sleeping in her room, and I missed her, I really missed her. I just wanted to go to her room and cuddle up next to her. That's crazy, no? Mother love...
Oh yes, and the real topic of this post, a cake.
I made a cake yesterday, an upside down nectarine cake, which filled the house with an amazing smell; I got my fingers burnt trying to get a slice as soon as it came out of the oven. This afternoon we ate the rest of it (2 slices!!) during our afternoon outing to the orchard and the park.
You will find the ingredients under the photos, if you care to see: 45 minutes on 175°C for this sweet deliciousness. Please do make this one, you will thank me.
Upside Down Nectarine Cake
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk (I used Greek yoghurt)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and divided
2 large eggs
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
4 nectarines, sliced into wedges
