London by Day

This weekend, we went to London again, en amoureux, without the baby yes. It is  nice sometimes to have no diapers in your purse and to be able to just hold your man's hand. We jumped on the Eurostar, had breakfast on the train, dropped our things at the hotel (Mercure London Bridge) and started walking, we first went to Borough Market, one of our favourite places to wander, with lots of good food (of course) next to the Tate Museum; I ate a pork belly & apple sauce sandwich. After we walked across the London Bridge and hopped on a bus direction Shoreditch, an up & coming neighbourhood with pop up shops in a boxpark, cool restaurants and shops and old buildings being revamped into contemporary restaurants or open spaces beings used as street food get-togethers.

We walked to the Brick Lane market, got into the photobooth at the Rough Trade record shop (another London tradition), grabbed a coffee (and spilled it all over me) and wandered between the street food stands, shops and restaurants. There is always a nice vibe going on.

After we went for drinks at The Anchor Pub, a Pimm's Lemonade, yummie and went back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.
Sunday morning we went for a long walk along the Thames, from London Bridge to the Big Ben and the houses of Parliament, they stay impressive, it doesn't matter how many times you go. There is always some entertainment during your walk, dancers, singers, scaters, little book markets, protesters...

Then we walked to Picadilly Circus and got on the Underground, back to Saint Pancras, Brussels and Petti.

In my following post I will share some pictures about our night on the town!
It is always great to come back to this city, it is always changing, moving, improving,...
It was a very nice getaway, just the 2 of us.
