The West Coast

After the city of Frisco, we headed for some romantic Seaside driving along the Famous Highway 1.
First Stop: Monterey, on Cannery Row, where John Steinbeck drew inspiration for his novel about life in Monterey during the heyday of the sardine canning industry.
We stayed at the Intercontinental The Clement, which is built in the ruins of the canning company.
The hotel was really romantic, with a nice room with a balcony and a fireplace next to the bed.

We enjoyed walking around the cute little village and ate some clam chowder (mmm) in the sun.

After that a swim in the pool and a sunset aperitivo with cocktails, calamari and a blanket to keep us warm

I love the jelly art lightshow in the lobby stairway to the second floor.

Today we drove for another 5 hours on Highway 1 all the way to Santa Barbara, listening and singing along on the Best of The Beach Boys.

Almost the end of our Holiday :(
